Honda Fit 2025 – Honda is gearing up for the world debut of the next-generation Jazz/Fit at next year’s Tokyo Auto Show, but the news isn’t good for potential customers in the US.
So far, the company has called the new model the Jazz only, and it will only be offered as a hybrid in Europe, according to Auto News, but the automaker declined to comment on whether it will come to the U.S.
Honda Fit 2025
Honda currently offers the greenest models in Europe, including the electric E pickup, and plans to offer at least one electrified version of each of its models on the continent by 2025.

Fit sales in the U.S. market fell 17 percent through September. Selling a small car in the U.S. has been tough in recent years, and Honda may become the latest in a string of automakers to abandon the segment. Current NA-spec oil is produced at the company’s plant in Mexico.
Regardless, the next-generation Honda Jazz hybrid powertrain uses the company’s i-MMD dual-motor technology, mated to a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and a CVT transmission.
The secondary pickup retains its familiar shape, although the design is less desirable inside and out. The interior shares most of the switchgear with the Honda e EV, but not the full-width display configuration. A Honda Fit/Jazz Type R isn’t planned yet, but remains a possibility Superman’s project manager isn’t completely ruling out the possibility of a hot hatch.
While no blind NSX is in the offing, but rumors to the contrary suggest, the Civic will be the only member of the R-spec family for now, a “special area” according to the company’s new supercar project manager, who is expected to launch a second high-performance Honda in the future. While the Jazz project manager said there are currently no plans to introduce a Type R variant, he admitted there is “always a possibility”. His comments indicate what customers in Asia are buying because they “love dynamic driving”. Honda enthusiasts are well aware that over the years the company’s home market of Japan has received many sports cars and cars that have never been sold elsewhere in the world. Could this be the case for the exciting Jazz/Fit? Only time will tell.
The fourth-generation pickup truck’s electrified 1.5-liter engine is sure to pack a punch, considering the European version only produces 107 horsepower and 253 Newton meters (187 pound-feet) of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.4 seconds and the top speed is only 1075 km/h, so the Jazz sold in the old land is not very fast.
As a final note, we noted that Hideki Kakinuma, project leader for the Civic Type R, recently spoke about the possibility of expanding the Type R family by adding an all-electric model. The enticing Honda E City Car could be a blast in R-type guise thanks to the torque-on-speed delivery of the electric motor, but it’s too early to tell if it’ll actually happen. It’s October 2019 and Honda has introduced the fourth-generation Fit/Jazz, which has already seen quite a bit of news for the stylish supercar. The JDM-spec model seen here will be available in facelifts ahead of its fall release, with buyers choosing from the following trims: Base, Estate, Luke, Crossstar and RS. Yes, the subcompact RS is getting the treatment, but don’t think of it as a full-on pickup.
While we usually associate the “RS” badge with supercars and Fords, Honda uses the suffix in some markets as a slightly sportier version of the model. For example, the Civic RS Sedan pictured below has a more aggressive look, but it’s a far cry from the Si small sedan.

Since this is technically just a preview, Honda didn’t go into detail about the Fit RS. We know it has a beefy hybrid configuration, the only powertrain available on the Jazz in Europe. In the Old Continental, the B-segment car has a total output of 109 HP (80 kW) and 253 Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque, and a top speed of 0 to 100 km/h. Top speed is 109 mph (175 km/h).
Honda promises faster engine power and better response during acceleration, while the standard Fit RS has a choice of Normal, Sport, and Econ drive mode switches. The new member of the family is also equipped with an acceleration selector represented by a panel mounted behind the wheel, which controls the regenerative braking, as does transparency.
It’s important to note that the RS is only available with front-wheel drive, while other trims, including the Crosstar, also get all-wheel drive in the Sunshine State. Performance-oriented tuning includes a slightly sportier exterior and yellow stitching inside the cabin. As with all other trims, a range of Honda Touch safety technologies are standard.
Honda phased out the Fit in the U.S. at the end of the previous generation’s life, and may not bring it back. It remains to be seen whether markets outside of Japan will receive the RS after its domestic launch this fall. Following the launch of the facelifted Fit lineup in Japan, Honda has announced updates like the European-spec 2023 Jazz e:HEV. These include subtle changes to the exterior design, a more powerful hybrid powertrain and the addition of new Advance Sport trims to line up with the regular Jazz and the “adventurous” Jazz Crosstar.
Honda Fit Review: Prices, Specs, And Photos
The new Honda Jazz e:HEV is identical to the JDM Honda Fit e:HEV RS, except for the sporty RS badge. Changes compared to the regular Jazz Focus focus on a redesigned front bumper with larger air intakes, honeycomb grille, side skirts and five-inch special alloy wheels. The sporty Jazz Urban Gray is matched with gloss black mirrors.
Next up, the Honda Jazz e:HEV Crosstar gets a slightly rougher look thanks to a modified honeycomb grille and silver inserts on the lower body. It also gets a new Fjord Mist blue shade for the exterior and a new color for the alloy wheels.
For some reason, Honda only showed the image of the advanced Sport and Crossstar, although the elegant and progressive trim of the regular Jazz was also slightly updated. The carmaker claims they feature a more pronounced grille, darker headlamps, lower-profile bumpers and a lower-alloy wheel design.
The interior is limited to updated color and trim options and the Crosstar’s new seat tops. The Advance Sport gets exclusive black synthetic leather/grey synthetic leather upholstery, sports tri-spoke wheels and yellow stitching throughout the cabin. The 7-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch infotainment are carried over from the front fascia, as are the rear magic seats.

The standard Honda Sensing ADAS suite gets a wider-angle and higher-resolution camera and improves system performance, while Traffic Jam Assist now supports intervention from 0km/h. All Honda Jazz e trims: HEV standard comes with ten airbags.
Unlike the JDM-spec Fit, which only offers an ICE engine option, the Jazz is only offered as a hybrid in Europe and the UK. The facelifted model e:HEV benefits from a number of improvements to the powertrain, which can produce a combined 121 PS (90 kW / 123 PS) and 253 Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque, which equates to an increase of 13 PS. (10 kW / 14 hp) compared to before.
The increase in power is achieved by increasing the power of the electric motor that drives the front wheels, the second electric motor that acts as a generator and the 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, which now has 106 PS (79 kW / 107 PS) and 131 Nm (96.7 lb-ft) of torque. Honda engineers have optimized the automatic transmission for smoother operation and quicker response. Additionally, while its predecessor didn’t come with towing capabilities, the updated Jazz can tow up to 500 kg (1,102 lb), enough for a bike rack or small trailer.
What’s more, the Honda Jazz e:HEV Sportback benefits from a host of upgrades, so its driveability and handling match its aggressive looks. The gearbox has a higher gear point
